God I love shito, except there are too many cooks here and I'd rather buy it from the African stores. The problem is that I've really had really bad shito in a while. It's been almost a year since my shito shopping *moving from store to store* and I can't find anything original. I got something good last month but it wasn't that great. I'm not an expert on making shito but I know good shito when I taste it. I tried the Ryco shito mix -- gah! it's not that great.

I spent my early years in Accra which means I'm a Ga nyo bi of sorts and the shito around here just doesn't compare to my komi shito .

My cousin in Ghana made us shitto, but I didn't care for it, it had a smoky smell and flavor. I liked the shitto my husband made for me better but he won't make it any more. :(

why wont he make it anymore?

my Sis, if you really want it then ask nicely with promises of wonderful things he wants and he may. Ask nicely and report back ...

Also make sure these wonderful things are not given before let it be after, or there will be no shito.

lately the african stores have the shrimps/fish ready (grinded/packed). Blend onions & ginger, get ur spices, oil, tomatoes (I prefer paste) and u r set.

Oil in a pan, add your blended onion and ginger, let it sit, add your tomatoe (let the water dry out), add your spices, shrimps/fish etc.!!

Takes a couple of minutes, just leave on really low heat!!!

modern ladies dont prepare good food
all they know is blend blend blend
the earthern ware (aporto yiwa or ka) which
is used to grind stuff adds some flavour to food
that no blender can ever do.

that's because most modern ladies work full time outside the home AND work full time inside the home taking care of the kids and hubby too! no time to spend ALL DAY cooking! :smilie_laugh:

I WAS HAVING A METHOD OF COOKING MY RICE AT THE BOARDING HOUSE :smilie_laugh:

We made good use of our Irons and heaters to cook rice and spagetti;desperate time call for desperate measures.
